My Story

I graduated with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University and I hold a BSc Honors in Physiology and Sports Science from the University of Glasgow.

I have completed additional training in Functional Dry Needling (IMS), Kinesiotaping, Myofascial Release, and Injury Prevention in Runners, and in 2023 I completed my designation as a Certified Hand Therapist.

My work in a private practice setting has provided me with a broad range of experience, including working directly with Banff Sports Medicine orthopaedic surgeons at a weekly knee clinic. This involved postoperative testing, assisting safe return to sport and care following knee surgery. I also spent time as part of a team of Physiotherapists assisting in the triage of shoulder patients, to help improve access to non-surgical and surgical care. I have been fortunate to have been involved in extensive specialized hand therapy mentorship and as a Certified Hand Therapist, I have a designated specialization in the rehabilitation of the upper extremity; from shoulder to hand.

I grew up on a farm in the South West of Scotland and was competitive in equestrian sports. These days I like to pursue my keen interest in skiing, and spend my summers mountain biking local trails.

Hand Therapy

Hand therapy is the evaluation and treatment of injuries and conditions of the upper extremity (shoulder, arm, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand). To obtain a CHT credential a therapist must practice for minimum of three years, accumulating 4,000 hours of treatment of upper extremity disorders, and pass a rigorous certification process.

Hand therapists offer a variety of techniques and tools, including exercise programs, custom splints, pain and swelling management, and care of wounds and scars.
